Accountability Practices

Wildfire Ministries International is an independent nonprofit organization that operates not only according to US law but according to Biblical principles of accountability.  The ministry maintains the following practices that help ensure the integrity of the organization:

  • The Board of Directors

  • Ministry Relationships

  • Financial Records, Audits, and Reviews

  • Personal Accountability for Staff

  • Nonprofit Status

Below is a description of each:

The Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors includes 5 men and women with diverse skills and proven business expertise. This team is responsible for all decision-making at Wildfire Ministries International.

Ministry Relationships

WMI operates in unofficial relationships with other reputable ministries and nonprofits. While this may not have any legal value, it does serve the purpose of encouraging and maintaining Christian unity. These relationships create opportunities for experienced counsel and advice. Additionally, the quality and continuation of these relationships depends upon WMI’s integrity and consistency in vision, mission, and purpose.

Financial Records, Audits, and Reviews

WMI maintains a detailed record of its finances and welcomes external audit of its operations.

Personal Accountability for Staff

Both the Executive Director, Art Thomas, and Vice President, James Loruss hold ministerial credentials with the Michigan District of the Assemblies of God. They are both members of Northville Christian Assembly in Northville, Michigan, where they make themselves spiritually accountable to the pastor and other believers. Other staff and volunteers are also expected to maintain a healthy level of spiritual accountability for the sake of personal integrity and thriving relationships with God.

Nonprofit Status

WMI is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the State of Michigan. This status adds a welcomed extra layer of accountability and scrutiny to the general operations of the organization.
